Our roof is on! Brick's going up! Our contractors have been very busy as of late. All the trades still plan to finish the new addition by the middle of December. When complete, we will move staff, collections, and services into the new addition and hand over the existing building for renovation. While we plan to be open throughout the project, from time to time it may be necessary to close the library for limited periods out of a concern for the comfort and safety of the public and staff.
The facade of the old building is being constructed now as well. When complete, the new front entrance will house a copy center, a waiting area for youths and adults, and have a side entrance allowing patron to use a covered walkway to enter the building from the church’s parking lot. This two story high entrance will architecturally tie the existing library and the new addition together.
