Senior Volunteer Opportunities

The Senior Companion Program and Senior Companion Program is open to any senior over the age of 60 who would like to help another senior with simple chores or just provide some friendly conversation and companionship. Volunteers provide one-on-one support to elderly individuals who are frail and homebound with special needs and they also may provide relief to primary caregivers for short periods of time. The volunteer receives an income eligible tax-free stipend, a daily meal and paid benefit days.

The Foster Grandparent Program connects two generations, young children and senior volunteers. This program requires that a volunteer be 60 years of age or older and available 20 hours a week. The volunteer receives an income eligible tax-free stipend, a daily meal, paid benefit days, personal satisfaction and the opportunity to work with children in a school setting.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program(RSVP)This is a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for people age 55 and older to try to make a difference in their communities through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers choose how and where they want to serve, from a few to over 40 hours a week. RSVP makes it easy for older adults to find the types of volunteer service opportunities that appeal to them.
