Teacher Library Cards
All teachers working in the East Islip, Great River or Islip Terrace schools can apply for a teacher’s courtesy library card. This card is good for one school year and entitles the holder to full access to our materials. In order to apply for this card you must bring in proof that you are employed in a local school.
Need our help with an assignment? Fill out our Assignment Alert! form and let us know what materials your class requires. This is a great way to ensure that the books (etc.) are made available for your students’ needs. Materials will be put on reserve or will be lent out for no more than a week.
If you would like to arrange for your class to come in for a tour or to research a certain subject, contact us at 581-9200 x6.
We will gladly set aside requested titles or select materials for you on a special subject. You can then pick them up at the end of your school day. Please allow two days to fill your request. Call us at 581-9200 x6.
If you would like to make a suggestion for this collection, please e-mail us or come into the children’s department and fill out one of the suggestion slips located in the Teacher Collection area.
Teacher orientation tours can be arranged if 5 or more teachers in your school are interested. Tours are scheduled at the end of the school day and take about one hour. Contact your school librarian to arrange a tour.
