TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE LIBRARY DAY
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2

OPEN HOUSE

Children and their grown - ups can join us to play, go on a scavenger hunt, create a craft, and enjoy freebies. Courtesy of New York Life, parents will also have the opportunity to obtain an identification card that wi ll include your child’s fingerprint, photo and other vital information. Your child's information will be given directly to you and not be saved by the company. While you’re here, don't forget to sign up for our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Club. This free program encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she enters school – a goal that experts say children need to help them learn to read. Receive a special prize for signing up today. No registration is necessary for this Open House.

MORE THAN MOTHER GOOSE - EIJ403

We’re going to practice our seek and find skills in this exciting story time. Afterwards , families can do our Hearty Scavenger Hunt throughout the Children’s Room. Hearty Scavenger Hunt will debut after this story time; families may drop in anytime after 5 p.m. on February 7 to participate in the Scavenger Hunt! A prize will be awarded upon completion.

Learn more sign language with fun games and activities. This program is generously provided for by the Bohlsen Family Foundation. Prerequisite: Beginners American Sign Language with Miss Nicole.

READ TO THE DOGS – EIJ578

Students practice their reading skills and gain confidence by reading aloud to a trained Therapy Dog. Dogs and their handlers are registered with Therapy Dogs International. Student readers can sign up for a 20-minute session when they come to the Children’s Desk to register.
