Early childhood educators can find materials here as well as in the Teacher Collection

Some books on these subjects and other books on topics such as pregnancy, children and society, family studies, child care and child psychology may also be found in the Adult Collection.

East Islip Public Library has many books which can help you explain and share sensitive issues with your child. The librarians will be happy to help you locate these materials. Some subjects that parents may wish to discuss with their children include: abuse, adoption, charities and giving, dealing with emotions, death, divorce, going to a doctor or hospital, health and nutrition, new baby, potty training, and starting school.

If a specific title or titles is unavailable at the Library, the Children's Librarians are able to borrow most titles from another library and have it delivered to the East Islip Public Library, usually in a matter of days, for our patron to check out.
