Electronic Resources

virtual reference collection

VIRTUAL REFERENCE COLLECTION
Your one stop doorway to electronic information for your academic, consumer and daily needs.  Find full-text information from and about: Art, Biographies, Business, Directories, Education, Encyclopedias, Health, Literature, Magazines, Maps, Newspapers, Science, Social Science and Statistics.

Each fall the electronic products on the Virtual Reference Collection (VRC) are re-evaluated, and new contracts are negotiated. Sometimes companies lose their licenses on certain products. This year, the most important concern was in finding an electronic version of Newsday and filling the gap in our full-text connection to the New York Times. In addition, a new genealogical database has been acquired, Heritage Quest, which is recommended by many genealogical and historical societies. The other new product is Rosetta Stone, an online English as a Second Language program.
We hope you will find these changes useful. If you have any questions about these electronic databases, or have a special need for information, please call the Adult Reference Desk for help.
