Great Reading For Any Season
East Islip Public Library
2008

Introduction

Another year has passed since the librarians last compiled the Great Reading for Any Season booklet. With so many books being published each year, we strive to choose a few of the best books in each genre. We often get asked for “something good to read” or for “something different to read.” We keep that in mind as we read reviews, order books for the library, and prepare this booklet. The staff hopes that these choices will lead you to some very satisfying reads. Let us know what you like and don’t like.
In addition to being a year in which many fine books were published, it has been a year where the use of audio books has exploded. They are now available in four different formats; cassette, CD, Playaway (a self-contained audio book on a small MP3 player) and as a download (Suffolkwave). Try them all! To download an audio book, go to the library’s home page (www.eipl.org) and click on SuffolkWave.
While on our web page be sure to visit the Reader’s Corner where you will find many reader-friendly links, and a web version of this booklet.
