A message from the Board President:
A Message From The Board President: As we begin a new year, I hope that this year brings you and your loved ones health and happiness. “In these uncertain times, with the cold coming upon us, your library is a warm and stabilizing force. A place to come and sit by the fireplace and read your favorite magazine with a hot cocoa, a place to find a great book or movie, attend an informative lecture or listen to a musical performance. A place to find answers to any question. A place to exercise both your mind and body.” Five years ago I wrote this in the library’s January newsletter. Who could have guessed how our lives would change over this time. Well, we are still here, and the library is still the warm and inviting place it has always been. In these pages are numerous activities you can participate in. Attend a lecture about Long Island during the Civil War or a concert featuring the beautiful voice of Mary Sollitto, be an armchair traveler on a breathtaking tour of Norway, schedule an appointment with our career counselor, or check out a pass to visit one of numerous local museums admission free. These are just a few of the many offerings at the library. Make it your New Year’s resolution to become more involved, enlightened and entertained. Use your library! Since 1961 we have been here to help you enrich your life and achieve your dreams and goals.
Thank you, John E. Flynn
