A Message from the Board of Trustees:

With an unprecedented rate of change in the world around us, and the mind boggling increase in the number of things we need to know to get along today, libraries are more important than ever. After careful examination of every anticipated expenditure, we propose a budget that would increase taxes by just 1.76%, well under the library’s tax cap. For the average household in our community, this budget is estimated to raise library taxes by $7.48 for the entire year, or sixty-two cents per month. It would allow the library to continue to evolve while focusing on meeting the needs of all the residents of East Islip, Great River, Islip Terrace and North Great River in a fiscally responsible / cost effective manner.

We thank you for your continued support and ask you to come out and vote on Tuesday, April 10th.

A message from the Library Director:
Recently the library was audited by the NY State Comptroller’s office as part of their statewide mission. During this audit they found no improprieties, no misappropriation of funds and no waste of public monies. They did have a couple of recommendations to improve our financial controls.
We listened to these recommendations and implemented appropriate procedures accordingly.
A copy of this audit and our corrective action plan is available by clicking on the links below.
Please feel free to give me a call or stop in and ask for me, if you have any additional questions.
Thank you!
